A public memorial for Montreal police officer Mohamed Lamine Benredouane, who was killed last week in the line of duty, will be held July 7 at the Bell Centre.
Benredouane was shot and killed in a midday gunfight June 22 in the Cote-des-Neiges neighbourhood.
A second man, Michel Mizrahi, was also killed, and a second police officer was wounded before the gunman was fatally shot.
It was the first time in 24 years that a Montreal police officer was killed on the job.

Benredouane left behind a wife, pregnant with their second child, and a three-year-old son.
A private funeral was held on June 24, but the police force said at the time it would hold a public service in the coming weeks.
More details about the ceremony will be released in the coming days.
