A Calgary criminal defence lawyer has been charged with child luring and sexual exploitation offences, six months after he was charged with harassing a police officer.

Jordan Bonner, 46, was arrested last week after Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams’ (ALERT) internet child exploitation (ICE) unit, along with Calgary police, executed searches on his home and law office.

“The investigation remains ongoing as ICE is completing a forensic analysis on computers and electronic devices that were seized,” reads a statement sent out by ALERT on Wednesday.

The charges include child luring, as well as making, distributing and accessing child sexual abuse materials.

According to ALERT, Bonner is accused of engaging in sexually explicit conversations online with several children between the ages of 11 and 15 years old.

Police also accused Bonner of sharing child sexual exploitation materials.

Bonner faces three firearms-related charges, including unauthorized possession and careless storage of a firearm.

The investigation got underway in December after a referral to ALERT by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between Dec. 20, 2025, and April 30, 2026, according to court documents.

As part of his bail conditions, Bonner is prohibited from accessing social media and has been ordered to stay away from areas where children frequent.

Investigators say the Snapchat usernames alleged to have been used by Bonner include “jrcbonner,” “whydoyoucare197,” and “daddysboi10.”

ICE is asking anyone with information about the case to contact police. The investigation is ongoing.

In November, Bonner was charged with criminal harassment for allegedly threatening a police officer who had previously led an investigation into him.

That investigation was not related to the child luring allegations.

Bonner’s next court appearance is later this week.

The lawyer who represented Bonner during his first appearance before a justice of the peace did not immediately respond to CBC’s request for comment.
