Windsor police say they’re investigating a suspected homicide after a 16-year-old was stabbed in the area of Tecumseh Road East between Mercer Street and McDougall Street.
Police said Sunday night that officers responded just before 6 p.m. to a report of a person with a weapon.
The 16-year-old male was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police say. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police say a suspect was arrested a short time later on Goyeau Street.
The major crimes unit is investigating. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the unit, or Crime Stoppers.
Windsor police have called a news conference for 2 p.m. Monday at headquarters to provide an update on the homicide investigation.
