If you know anything about Bryce Wettstein, you know she’s one of those skaters who just naturally radiates creativity, style and fun. And the latest “Then / Now” episode from our friends at The Plafrm gives a rad look into how everything from her style to her current setup to her influences have changed over the years. From the very beginning, she’s certainly marched to the beat of her own drum—and it shows. Press play and learn more about this rising star.
We hear stories of her growing up skating around Encinitas, California, learning lines at the classic YMCA park, and being inspired by OG legends like Mike McGill and Gonz, along with some straight-up skateboarding pioneers like Patti McGee—just to name a few.
You can tell her roots run deep, but she’s still getting fired up from modern day rippers like Greyson Fletcher, the Worble crew, and of course her best friend, Poppy Starr, amongst plenty of others. Everyone rips these days!

This series is rad because you do get to see the evolution of your favorite skaters, for one, but mostly because we all have similar stories—or can at least relate, you know?
The stuff my 10-year-old self was into compared to now has changed a decent amount, sure, but a lot has suprisingly stayed the same. And I see that a lot in these “Then / Now” installments. Also, who knew Bryce was an aspiring rapper back in the day (haha)!

Anyways, if you haven’t yet, give it a watch. Bryce is a true original and skateboarding needs more of that these days. Yeah, Bryce!
