Street League is coming to Santa Monica in a few weeks, and they’re switching up their usual format. They recently shared the official course reveal, and it’s actually looking pretty rad, all things considered.
According to SLS, the Triple Set will be custom-built and dropped directly on the Santa Monica Pier, which is pretty wild to imagine. They’re basically turning this iconic spot (which happens to be a stones throw from the event) into a live, free skateboarding event that is open to the public. You rolling? Take a look:

“We’re transforming the iconic Santa Monica Pier on Friday, May 23, in the league’s first-ever ‘Spot-Takeover’ event,” SLS mentioned on their website. “A custom-built course will rebuild the Santa Monica Triple Set—one of skateboarding’s most iconic spots—right on the Santa Monica Pier for a FREE festival that pays homage to the place that shaped skateboarding into what it is today.”

The Santa Monica Triple Set is an undeniably iconic spot. It’s been a proving ground for some of the heaviest hitters in the game, and pretty much every trick that has gone down on it is legendary. And even though a rebuilt version will never be the same as the actual spot—no pedestrians, distractions—I’m still curious to see what some of skateboarding’s best have in store for it.
