The shoe has been worn by the best and loved by the rest, and this year, éS is gearing up to celebrate this epic milestone on May 19 for Accel Day.

Since its debut in 1995, the Accel has turned out to be much more than just a clean, durable skate shoe—it’s a staple in skateboarding at this point. And who better than the brand themselves to fully explain the story behind “Accel Day” and what it’s all about. Hear from éS below:

First released in 1995, it became an instant staple: clean design, lasting build, and a feel that just works. Over the years, it’s been laced up by some of the most influential names in the game—and it’s never disappeared. Not from the streets, not from the footage, not from the culture.
May 19 is Accel Day. A chance to highlight what the shoe means now and has meant across its lifespan. Because the Accel is about that earned respect across generations.

I’m stoked they reminded us of the mini Accels they made back in 2021. Anyone remember those? Pretty funny. “The Micro Accel x Gonk Toys wasn’t revolutionary. It wasn’t even remotely practical. But it was a good time,” éS mentioned. “Good times matter.”
