The Montreal Canadiens are heading to the Eastern Conference final after defeating the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 in overtime in Game 7 on Monday night at KeyBank Center.
The Canadiens, who were coming off an 8-3 loss in Game 6 on home ice, managed to take the win while away.
Montreal also edged the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1 in Game 7 of its opening-round series.
Montreal will next face the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference final. Carolina swept its second-round series and entered Monday unbeaten in the playoffs.
