Quebec provincial police have issued an arrest warrant for a 54-year-old Laval man who they say killed Charalambos Theologou, an organized crime figure shot dead in broad daylight at a Starbucks last year.

Police also say that the man, Denis Beaupré, has been missing since Oct. 5, 2025. Theologou — who was known as “Bobby the Greek” and was suspected to be implicated in extortion and drug sales — was killed on Oct. 1.

Last week, provincial police, known as the SQ, searched a property in Vankleek Hill, Ont., a small town just west of the Quebec border. The operation, they said, was tied to Beaupré’s disappearance.

Now, they say Beaupré caused Theologou’s death. He has been charged with first-degree murder and recklessly discharging a firearm.

Beaupré has a criminal past and ties to the Hells Angels biker gang. He pleaded guilty to assault with a weapon in 2016 and was found with a weapon in contradiction of a court order in 2018.

Theologou’s death was violent and public. Security camera footage captured the shooting. It shows two masked men entering a busy Starbucks coffee shop in the Chomedey neighbourhood of Laval, Que.

Theologou, said to be the head of a gang known as the Chomedey Greeks, was sitting in the rear of the Starbucks with two associates when the two masked men rushed toward him and shot him and his associates, who survived.

An undercover police officer who had been tailing Theologou was present inside the Starbucks at the time of the shooting.

The operation in Vankleek Hill last week took place on a rural property and involved canine units and drones, according to police.

A missing persons’ post describes Beaupré as five foot eleven, 200 lbs., with blue eyes, blondish-red hair. The police said at the time they issued the missing persons report that they feared for his heath and safety.

Provincial police are asking anyone with information that could help them locate Beaupré to contact them at 1-800-659-4264.
