Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele continued to share the Winnipeg Jets’ scoring lead with a goal apiece in a 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Sunday afternoon.

Each player has 31 goals, with Scheifele’s marker coming on his 33rd birthday.

Haydn Fleury had a goal and assist and Morgan Barron added a pair of helpers for the Jets (28-28-10) before 14,082 fans at Canada Life Centre.

Eric Comrie made 29 saves in his career-high 21st start of the season and registered a career-best 11th win (11-9-1).

The victory also extended the backup netminder’s win streak to five games, the longest for a Jets’ goaltender this season. Starter Connor Hellebuyck had a four-game victory run in October.

Dalibor Dvorsky and Dylan Holloway scored for the Blues (27-30-10), who suffered their first regulation loss in March (6-1-1). Jordan Binnington stopped 13 shots.

Winnipeg is four points out of the second wild-card spot in the NHL Western Conference, pending other games Sunday.

Jets: Winnipeg’s first-period stinginess continued. The Jets have only allowed 11 goals in the opening period of 27 games since the calendar flipped. They scored on two of their first three shots of the game. Fleury’s goal was his first with the Jets, coming in the defenceman’s 64th game with the team. Barron’s two assists gave him a career-high 22 points.

Blues: St. Louis had a rare off night in the defensive department. The team went into the match surrendering a league-low 1.71 goals against per game in March. Dvorsky recorded his 10th goal of the season on an odd-man rush with a tip-in five minutes into the third period and Holloway’s 14th goal made it 3-2 with 51 seconds remaining.

Connor scored on a delayed penalty when he beat Binnington through the five hole with 8:07 remaining in the third for a 3-1 lead.

The Jets continued finding success in afternoon games, padding their record to 7-1-1.

Jets: End a season-high eight-game homestand Tuesday hosting the Nashville Predators.

Blues: Play the second game of a three-game road trip Wednesday against the Calgary Flames.
