As the Toronto Blue Jays began their World Series run, another Toronto institution continued a collaboration with the team. The Toronto Symphony Orchestra recorded the team’s anthem, released on October 23. It has been playing throughout the series.

As that series reaches the key sixth game tonight, it’s a good time to showcase the track. It’s an orchestral arrangement of the song “I Want It All” but UK band Queen. The arrangement by Matthew Freeman was originally featured on the album Symphonic Queen by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

RBC Resident Conductor and TSYO Conductor Nicholas Sharma led the orchestra during the recording session.

“With all eyes on Toronto as the World Series begins tonight, this project is a powerful reminder of what we do best: bringing big emotions to big moments and uniting our city through the power of music,” says Mark Williams, Beck Family CEO in a statement.

“Like sports, music has a unique ability to inspire pride, connection, and a sense of belonging — and it’s a privilege to play our part in such an iconic Toronto moment. Let’s go Blue Jays!”

A video of the recording was filmed on location at Roy Thomson Hall.

Whether they win or lose tonight, we hope the teams (both of them) know how proud the city is of them and their efforts.
