Like a vintage Michael Jordan jersey or Jimi Hendrix’s Strat—the list goes on and on—certain relics exist in the world and are often just sitting on display, forever stuck in time. Hey, that’s totally fine. But Tony Hawk’s legendary “900” board easily earns its place on that list. And now, for the first time ever, he’s letting it go.
That’s right—The Birdman is auctioning off the very board he landed the first 900 on as part of the “900 Collection” alongside the folks at Julien’s auctions. Oh, and just FYI, it’s been 26 years (to the literal day) since that iconic day in skateboarding.
“Among the extraordinary rarities in the ‘Tony Hawk: The 900 Collection’ auction are a pair of black and orange Adio Tony Hawk model sneakers (size 13), along with the exact knee pads and helmet he wore while executing the groundbreaking 900,” Julien’s Auctions mentions. “Items that are virtually irreplaceable given their direct association with this iconic moment in skateboarding history.”

Let’s be real—this is pretty gnarly. But don’t get too excited, because the majority of us here probably don’t have a spare $500,000-600,000 sitting around, which is the estimated starting bid. It makes sense, though. Because in all honesty, that thing is pretty much priceless. Fury trucks. The Adio and Hot Wheels stickers. Pure gold.
Registration is required to bid in this auction and can be done in person on the day of the auction (9/23/25), or online before the sale at the Julien’s Auctions.

Tony’s “900 Collection” will be on display this weekend at X Games Salt Lake City. If you happen to be there, stop by the X Games Club ‘95 Lounge and check it all out.
“Landing a 900 at the 1999 X Games was a huge moment in my career — the result of years of persistence and getting back up after every fall. I never imagined that my board, pads or helmet from that day would be of any interest to collectors,” Hawk told Julien’s Auctions.
“I’m honored to partner with Julien’s Auctions on The 900 Collection, which will be on public display for the first time this weekend at the X Games. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will benefit The Skatepark Project, the foundation I started to help communities build safe and inclusive skateparks in underserved areas, where young people can experience the same freedom and confidence that skateboarding offered me.”
