25 years? Yes. 25 years. It’s been 25 years since that beautiful orange VHS tape blessed countless VCRs across the globe and it feels as if Alien Workshop’s iconic full-length, Photosynthesis has only gotten better with age. Depending on how old you are, you might be thinking, VHS? VCR? But for those who know, well, you know just how special this timeless skate video truly is.
All of this to say—Alien Workshop is celebrating 25 years of Photosynthesis with some anniversary boards that are currently hitting shops as we speak. Take a look below. Wall-hangers for days!

Alien has obviously gone through some changes over the last few decades, but honestly, what brand in skateboarding hasn’t? Change is inevitable, but videos like Photosynthesis remind us why we’ll always have a special place in our hearts for certain brands. Through all the ups and downs, I still get stoked to see Workshop graphics old and new.

Released in 2000, Photosynthesis featured: Anthony Pappalardo, Anthony Van Engelen, Brian Wenning, Danny Garcia, Danny Way, Fred Gall, Jason Dill, Josh Kalis, Kerry Getz, Mark Appleyard, Pat Corcoran, Rob Dyrdek, Rob Pluhowski and Tim O’Connor. And like many others, it’s one of my all-time favorites.
It’s one of those rare, highly-referenced videos that changed skateboarding at the time, and the star-studded cast of skaters basically all went on to have blossoming careers.

Look for the boards at your local shop—but act fast. They are limited, and I have to imagine there are more than a few OG Alien Workshop fans who will be out there copping these. GTWYC!
