Asics Skateboarding has been steadily carving a path of its own in the skate shoe world, and 2025 has already seen some super tasteful offerings from the brand. No bells and whistles needed—just solid shoes that are ready to skate.
I know it’s only June, but I rounded up a few of my favorite releases from the year so far. It’s a small list in the grand scheme of things, but these have all caught my eye for one reason or another. No particular order, either! Take a look:
1. White/Black Japan Pro MT
The most recent drop on the list, Asics Skateboarding continues to give the people what they want with releases like the White/Black Japan Pro MT (mid-top) seen below. If you skate mid-tops, these just might be calling your name. I’ve also seen countless skateshops sharing them over the past week or so, which is a great sign. People are stoked. Cop ’em if you want ’em!

2. Arctic Sky/Black Japan Pro
The Arctic Sky/Black colorway of the fan-favorite Japan Pro is extremely easy on the eyes. Clean and built to skate, these kicks offer style and durability in a way only Asics can—grippy soles, tough materials, and a minimalistic look that works on and off the board. Definitely one of my favorite colorways of the Japan Pro.

3. Black/White Gel-Splyte
Comfort and durability matter to everyone—especially skateboarders who put their shoes through serious wear and tear. Fortunately, most modern skate shoes are built with both in mind. Gotta treat your feet, right? The black/white GEL-Splyte is a perfect example: clean, classic, and packed with tech that actually makes a difference. These things just look tough, you know?

4. Black/Brown Gel-Vickka Pro
Asics Skateboarding’s Gel-Vickka Pro is one of their most sought-after designs, and the black/brown colorway is about as clean and classic as they come. These are some proper-looking skate shoes, if you ask me. So if you’re into low-key, durable, comfortable kicks that are designed with skateboarders and skateboarding in mind, look no further. Simple. Minimalistic. Gum sole perfection!

5. Wood Crepe/Evergreen Japan Pro
I’m not playing favorites here, but if I had to, these would probably be it. As one of the latest additions to their ripping lineup of kicks, the ‘Wood Crepe/Evergreen’ colorway of the Japan Pro is easily one of the brand’s nicest drops yet. No gimmicks. No overhyped antics. These things are easy on the eyes and ready to rip.

6. Prussian Blue/White VIC NBD
If you’ve been paying attention to Asics’ skate lineup, you already know they’ve been delivering strong, stylish silhouettes that are subtly packed with all the tech needed for modern-day skateboarding—and the Prussian Blue/White VIC NBD is no exception. Bright and bold, I have no problem believing these will turn some heads on skateshop shoe walls across the globe.

7. Black/Blue Japan Pro
While some of Asics’ designs have been a bit more technical than others, nothing has been too flashy or over the top, and this clean black/blue colorway of the Japan Pro is a great example. I know the Japan Pro is on here a few times, but every new colorway has really caught my eye. The color options are endless, but everything they’ve dropped so far has hit super hard. Backing these for sure.
