A Montreal man wanted by the FBI in connection with the Ryan Wedding case was arrested Monday in New Jersey.
Tommy Demorizi, 35, was apprehended by FBI and U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents at Newark International Airport. Officials believed he had been hiding in the Dominican Republic.
According to the FBI, Demorizi was wanted for multiple violations, including assisting the so-called Ryan Wedding Criminal Enterprise with locating a witness who was later murdered.
Wedding, an alleged Canadian drug lord who competed for Canada as a snowboarder at the 2002 Olympic Games in Utah, was arrested in Mexico in January after a decade on the run. He faces 17 charges related to murder and drug trafficking.
Demorizi faces several drug related chages, including conspiracy to distribute, possess and export cocaine, conspiracy to commit murder and witness tampering.
