Tivoli Copenhagen Phil will provide live musical accompaniment.
For audiences, it’s a chance to experience highlights of the classical ballet canon as they’re performed by a range of companies, as well as newer works of the 20th and 21st centuries.
It’s the first time that dancers from the National Ballet of Canada will perform at The Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen. They’ll be performing two pieces:
Both works have a theme that revolves around the nature of love in various ways. Heather Ogden and Genevieve Penn Nabity are reprising their roles in islands. Penn Nabity and Rudisin will perform in On The Nature of Daylight by David Dawson, the National Ballet’s Resident Choreographer.
Other performers include Danish principal dancer Ida Praetorius, who will perform in Hamburg Ballet John Neumeier’s Adagietto with fellow Hamburg Ballet principal dancer Matias Oberlin. Praetorius will also dance in Oenothera, a piece choreographed by her brother Tobias.
