With Nyjah Huston’s fourth pro model dropping last month (July 8, officially), designed with Nyjah’s myriad passions in mind—DJing, dirtbiking, trailrunning, and of course skateboarding—we figured it was time to take a look back at the four-shoe run and see what’s changed and what’s stayed the same.
Nyjah 1, aka Nyjah Free, release date: March 1, 2018

Fresh in its design and built to withstand aggressive skateboarding, we got flown up to Portland for this one. We got to check out the dissected shoe on a design table on campus, got to skate the Nike SB skatepark, and got to see a session go down in Sandy Bodecker’s private man cave with its bowl:

Nyjah dropped his ‘Til Death video part to commemorate his first pro model with Nike SB. Directed by Ty Evans, this monster’s up to 11 million views on YouTube:
The Nyjah 1 retailed for 95 dollars, so if you didn’t like that, “you just don’t like technology.”
Nyjah Free 2, release date: July 1, 2020
Nike SB
Mimicking Nike’s popular Spiridon model, the Nyjah Free 2 came with updated mesh panels to keep your feet cool while skating.
Nyjah 3, release date: November 2022
Nike SB
The 3 was more of an updated Nyjah 1 than anything, and that’s not bad. After the sidestepping move with the Nyjah 2, it was nice to see the 3 tap back into the original DNA of Nyjah’s first shoe.
Another pro model shoe meant another monster part. Cue 2022’s Need That.
Nyjah 4: release date July 8, 2025
Nike SB
Comin’ in hot in purple, this one was designed for all of Nyjah’s endeavors. He’s well into his career with a blossoming board brand of his own. Coming out the gates with a flawless Oliver Barton-shot hero ad (backside 180 nosegrind come out straight, aka a Spanish Grind down an 14!), it’s obvious Nyjah hasn’t lost a step and is still sending.
Will Nyjah keep it going and have a ten-shoe-run rivaling Paul Rodriguez’s legacy with SB? Will he finally hoist Olympic Gold in LA? Only time will tell; until then, we’re gonna slip on some Nyjah 4s and hit the streets.
