AriZona Mexico was planning a big event for Go Skate Day in “La Capital” aka “Chilangolandia” aka “CDMX.” Bonestalone, JJ Colõn, Leo Heinert and myself flew out for the weekend to link up with Oscar Meza, Pelukaz Veneno, César Ortega and Yair Dominguez to make it sizzle!
We hopped in a taxi from the airport straight to our hotel in the Zócalo district ad immediately hit the streets. The squad copped clips at Parque España and Palacio de Bellas Artes. Around 2 a.m. we finally took a break to eat tacos al pastor and then crashed hard.
The next day we met up with Pelukaz and Yair for a proper session at the famed Polanco banks and then took the train to San Cosme Park. Later that evening we took an amazing cable car ride across the entire city to Raúl Mendoza’s workshop to film an AriZona segment for the Ollie Shit Podcast. Naturally Bonestalone closed the show with an epic rap performance.
The next morning we arrived at JFK Park for Go Skate Day. By 10 a.m. the place was packed with ripping girls and guys of all ages. Sauro García had a bunch of cash to give out and the session got heated quickly! The vibe among the skaters was so pure. One of the best Go Skate Days we’ve ever witnessed. A big shout out to all the ripping locals that showed up, AriZona Mexico for painting the park so beautifully and bringing the Green Tea mascot to hand out the prizes. Also mad props to so many parents that brought their little ones to skate with the pro’s.
Can’t wait to see everyone again next year!
