Our friend Zack Dowdy got his hands on a set before they officially dropped last week and hopped on YouTube to give us the scoop. As he mentions in the video, Thunder has been working on these trucks for a few years now and they’ve done a pretty good job at keeping everything quiet. Take a look below for an honest deep dive into this new truck technology.
What I like most about Dowdy’s videos is his simple honesty. And it certainly doesn’t hurt that the dude rips! To see him set up a fresh set of the Thunder T-II’s and rip them the way he did right out the gate was rad. We all know new trucks take some time to break in, but these things looked like they were working just fine.
It’s tough to reinvent the wheel when it comes to trucks, but not impossible. All the marketing talk and fancy wording aside, all that ever really matters is how the trucks work for you. So whether you’re a die-hard Thunder supporter or you’re just looking to try something new—or shoot, maybe you’re just super curious like I am—head to your local shop and scoop a pair up. They just might be your new favorite trucks.
