For those who don’t know, the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series was a game-changer when it dropped in 1999. It played a huge role in shaping skate culture and arguably introduced skateboarding to a global audience like nothing before it.
Personally, I played both Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 religiously when I was a kid. And even though I was already pretty obsessed with skating at the time, the game really amplified that obsession. I will say this, though—I never really got into the rest of them! But that’s really neither here nor there.
