William “Bill” Strobeck really needs no introduction. The dude has been filming some of skateboarding’s most iconic individuals for decades and has his name stamped on some of the most important skate videos in the game.
He recently sat down on Living Proof Radio to tell his story, including the segment below where he talks about the making of Supreme’s groundbreaking video, cherry, and how it all came together. Take a look:

When cherry first dropped, I had it looping constantly. It was a proper introduction to this new generation of heavy-hitters—Tyshawn Jones, Sage Elsesser, Sean Pablo, Aiden Mackey, Ben Kadow, Nakel Smith, Kevin Bradley—and undeniably changed the way skateboarding was filmed moving forward.

These days, Strobeck is still filming regularly for Supreme and runs his own skate company, Violet with a stacked team of heavyweights and hungry up-and-comers alike: Troy Gipson, Kader Sylla, Efron Danzig, Patrick O’Mara, Mike Ward, Joseph Campos, Kris Brown, Kyle Teh, Auguste Bouznad, Jax Effs and Seven Strong.
Strobeck’s tasteful eye and original approach in cherry was a breath of fresh air, if you ask me. Love it or hate it, but he influenced an entire generation of skaters and filmers alike, inspiring them to get weird and look through the lens a little differently.
