Street Hawk! Tony Hawk’s versatility in skateboarding shouldn’t come as a surprise, but we often forget that The Birdman used to spend quite a bit of time in the streets during the early ’90s. And he was absolutely ripping!

“Here lies my street / park career: 1991 – 1994,” Tony wrote on Instagram. “Ankles rolled but never forgotten.” If you follow Tony on Instagram, you know he’s always referencing the ankle brace he was often wearing during this time. I love that he’s always happy to poke fun at himself. Street skating can be unforgiving!

Honestly, some of these clips were super ahead of their time. Tony was out there innovating and progressing in the streets as much as he was on vert, in my opinion. And Street Hawk’s style is just so rad. I could watch this all day long.
Ah, where would we all be without The Birdman? Tony has been keeping it real for decades and clips like this are such a great reminder that the dude just simply loves skateboarding. The terrain doesn’t matter. He’s always given it his all—from the streets to park to vert, and everything in between. And seeing him do his thing will always be inspiring.
