When one door closes, another one opens, right? LVLUP Academy (USA) is officially opening a brand-new, state-of-the-art Olympic-level skateboarding training facility this August at 1410 Vantage Court in Vista, CA. If that address sounds familiar, it’s because that’s where the CA|TF (California Skateparks Training Facility) has been for the past seven years. Big changes are coming! Learn more below.

Last week we got word that the California Skateparks Training Facility (CA|TF) had permanently closed its doors after seven fun years. The facility was top-notch and some of skateboarding’s heaviest hitters walked through their doors over the years.
While the news was a bummer, it looks like LVLUP bought the facility and will soon be calling it home. Peep some words from LVLUP Academy USA below:
“This groundbreaking high-performance center is designed to serve as the ultimate training ground for aspiring skateboarders and Olympic hopefuls in the United States,” LVLUP mentions in the official press release.
“The facility will feature a world-class Park and Street course modeled after Olympic and X Games competition venues, as well as a Vert Ramp, multiple Mini Ramps, and Resi setups for safe and progressive skill development.”

“LVLUP USA ACADEMY brings the proven success and culture of LVLUP AUS—Australia’s leading skateboard development academy—directly to the American market,” the press release continued. “The academy is built on a system that has developed global athletes such as Olympic Gold Medalist Arisa Trew, and it is poised to deliver the same elite training environment in Southern California.”
I was surprised when I heard the CA|TF has suddenly closed down, but this news is making the whole situation make a little more sense. And while these skateboarding “training facilities” are still somewhat new to me, I do think they’re necessary these days nonetheless.

“Our vision is to build the best skateboarding academy in the United States and embrace the cutlure of skateboarding and pass it down for generations to come,” said Trevor Ward, Founder of LVLUP. “This new facility will provide a structured and inspiring environment for young skaters to reach their full potential, whether that’s going pro, competing internationally, or making the Olympic team.”
