New Balance Numeric has been on a tear so far in 2025. From some tasteful collabs to thoughtful updates on their classics and of course, some major drops, it’s almost hard to believe we’re only in the middle of May. Anyways, here are seven of the best (aka my favorite) NB# releases we’ve seen so far this year in no particular order. Dive in:

1. Andrew Reynolds 933
Is it a runner? A dad shoe? Nope, it’s a skate shoe. And it’s arguably one of the most highly anticipated skate shoe drops that we’ve all seen in recent years. The Andrew Reynolds 933 is still making waves in skateboarding as I write this. When he inked his deal with New Balance Numeric a few years back, everyone was wondering about a Reynolds signature shoe. Well, it was worth the wait, to say the least. And these things are flying off of skateshop shoe walls on a daily basis. The dude still puts the capital “B” in The Boss! Of course he does.

2. Jamie Foy 480 (Foy80)
As many know, the New Balance Numeric 480 is already one of the brand’s most sought-after silhouettes, but when it got the Jamie Foy treatment, things got real. In the skateboarding world, Jamie Foy’s name is synonymous with power, control, and straight-up destruction—you could say the same about these kicks. The dude is a powerhouse. Simple as that. So when he puts his stamp on a shoe, you know it’s built to handle anything.

3. Bronze56K 480
New Balance Numeric and NYC’s beloved Bronze56K joined forces on a brand new “480” colorway that hit skateshops on May 19. At first glance, you might just think these look like sleek, black 480s, but you gotta look closer! Regardless, Bronze has always done things their way, and the attention to detail on these shoes is a great reflection of the brand. It’s low-key but eye-catching. Subtle but strong. At the time of writing this, these are the most recent drop and let me just say—the hype is real.

4. Village Psychic 1010
If you follow Village Psychic on any of its platforms, you might have noticed more than a handful of folks on Instagram rocking this fresh, (at the time) never-been-seen colorway of the Tiago Lemos New Balance 1010 back in March. Well, as we came to learn, it was an official collab between Mike and Spencer—the New York duo who manage the Village Psychic site and social, and it was an absolute banger. A collab like this tells me one thing—New Balance supports the underground.

5. Franky Villani 417 (Low Version)
In late February, New Balance Numeric hopped on Instagram to share a sleek new version of Franky Villani’s signature 417 shoe with an “updated fit” and “new lower model.” The 417 is already one of Numeric’s most sought-after shoes—and everyone loves Franky—but these new updates were made with skateboarding and skateboarders in mind. Personally, I love the low-cut version (and the colorway below). But they’ve since released a handful of different color options. Hit your local! I bet they have ’em.

6. Trail 440 V2
These might be a little more outta left field than the rest of the shoes on this list, but I back them all the same. Known for its mix of raw skateboarding and trail-inspired durability, the New Balance Numeric 440 V2 Trail has become a go-to for skaters and outdoor enthusiasts alike looking for a little extra grip and support. I’ve honestly only seen these out in the wild once or twice, but I promise—they do exist! It just adds an extra layer of mystery, if you ask me.
7. Brooklyn Projects 480 High
Brooklyn Projects and New Balance Numeric joined forces back in early March and dropped a limited-edition take on the NB Numeric 480 High, offering a unique blend of skateboarding and classic heavy metal vibes. This exclusive collab stemmed from the mind on Brooklyn Projects founder Dom DeLuca’s love for the heavy metal music and of course, skateboarding. Beware—they only made 574 pairs of these and I’d imagine they’ve all been claimed by now. But hey, resellers exist for a reason. Happy digging.

Hats Off to New Balance
Again, these are in no particular order, but they’ve all caught my eye for one reason or another. New Balance continues to approach everything they do with taste and care, and it’s been really cool to see. If you would’ve told me 15 years ago that I’d be saying that, I would’ve laughed. Hats off to the entire NB# squad. Keep charging.
