This is a photographer’s dream—Ray Barbee, an incredible manipulator of black and white film, is releasing his first ever photo book. And who of all people is helping him edit? Ed Templeton himself. Ed posted the exciting photos to IG this week with info on when and where to cop Mr. Barbee’s book.
“Hello everyone, I have some exciting news to share. Over the last few months I have been helping @r.barbee create his first ever photobook!! (Really just helping Ray bring his vision to life.) We just got the advanced copies and are happy to report it’s relatively flawless. (Of course there’s one typo, classic, 🤦♂️see if you can find it.) What we had on screen is pretty much what the printed book looks like. It is published by my favorite Japanese publisher @superlabo – and copies will be available starting this week in Los Angeles at the @printedmatter_artbookfairs aka LAABF. (Get it there to avoid shipping cost from Japan!)(We think @arcanabooks will get copies as well in the near future too.🤞) —- In these photos you can see Ray checking out some proof prints of the book a few weeks ago, followed by a few samples of the bound copy we just got. Keep your eye out for it!”
Just incredible. We’ll be grabbing a copy for sure.
