A small, private plane landed in Lake Ontario near downtown Toronto Friday, and a man has been rescued, according to Toronto police.
The plane landed near the Tommy Thompson Park portion of the Leslie Street Spit around 2:30 p.m., police said in a post on X Friday afternoon.
Toronto paramedics said in an email they are still at the scene and the rescued man has refused medical assessment.
The man, who is in his 40s and was the sole person on the plane, has non-life-threatening injuries, Toronto police said in a later post on X.
Police say they will speak with reporters later today to provide more details on the incident.
