Vans is keeping things cryptic and mysterious with the upcoming release of Curren Caples’ new signature model, and if you ask me, it’s working.
A few days ago, they posted a quick video on Instagram that was basically just some drone footage flying over a desert landscape, ending with a message: “The all new signature pro model by Curren Caples coming soon.” No Curren, no skating, no look at the shoe—just a few seconds of pure curiosity. Honestly, it felt like a perfume commercial or something, ha. Watch it below.

Then this morning, April 28th, they upped the mystery factor even more by posting a silhouette-style glimpse of the shoe. And when I say glimpse, I mean it—like, you can barely tell what you’re looking at.
I know this was obviously done on purpose to build the suspense (hey, consider me intrigued), but yeah, they’ve definitely got my attention. Take a look below and do a little dissecting yourself.

The caption says: “Curren Caples never-ending search for Vulcanized Perfection ends soon. All new pro model coming 5/1/25.”
And while those 15 words still might not tell us much, they at least tell us that the shoe is going to be designed with a vulcanized sole, and even the shadowy photo leads us to believe it will look somewhat like the timeless Vans Old Skool—a shoe Curren skates quite often.

One thing I have to mention is the fact that no one’s even seen the shoe yet and already seem super hyped on it. That says a lot about Curren’s skating and his influence in the skate world, as far as I’m concerned. Peep the comments. People are stoked!
