If you skated in the late ‘90s or early 2000s, there’s a good chance you skated a pair of éS shoes at some point. The brand was at the forefront of skate footwear, if you ask me, dropping some of the most iconic silhouettes of the era. Chunky tongues and all the tech you could ask for!

Whether you had these kicks back in the day or you’re just now getting familiar, these re-releases capture everything that made éS a staple in skateboarding. Tech-heavy designs, classic colorways, early-2000s vibes—it’s all here. So let’s take a look at the seven reissues that are making older heads like me reminisce and new skaters stoked to try something new.

1. Muska

The iconic ‘Muska’ by éS is as timeless as they come and has been reissued in a handful of different colorways at this point. But the classic Navy/White has always been one of my favorites. This era of Muska was all time! And these shoes still look as strong as they do stylish.

“The legendary éS Muska dominated in 1999, and now, the Navy/White reissue is here,” éS proudly mentioned on Instagram. “As the final drop in our six-colorway series, this one’s not to be missed.” And they certainly aren’t lying! I mean, I can’t personally pull off a pair of shoes like this, but honestly, I might have to try.

The “Muska”

2. Scheme

I know the ‘Scheme’ made a small comeback back in 2018(ish?), but it’s been officially back in the lineup since 2024 and being offered in two options right now, including its latest Navy/Gum colorway. These shoes take me back to my childhood! Say what you want, but éS was always ahead of the curve during this era. Who else was making kicks like this!?

“The Scheme is one of the more advanced shoes that set the direction for all others to follow,” éS mentions. “This highly demanded reissue is a mirror of the original with its super comfortable Energy Foam midsole and overall iconic design. For those seeking style on and off the board – the Scheme is for you.”

The “Scheme”

3. Creager

The “classics” are classic for a reason. Ronnie Creager’s iconic signature shoe—the “Creager”—still look so rad, in my opinion. And even though I can’t personally pull these off (like all the shoes blessing this list) it doesn’t change the fact that I’m a huge fan of them and Creager. Nostalgia at its finest.

“One of the most highly demanded shoes in skateboarding is back. Ronnie Creager has been one of the most innovative and stylish skaters to come out of the 90’s and 30 years later is still ripping above and beyond most,” éS humbly mentions on their site.

4. One Nine 7

Another one straight from the golden era of the late ’90s/early ’00s skateboarding, éS unearthed some serious gold when they brought these back. The iconic ‘One Nine 7’ is just dripping with nostalgia and takes me back to a time in my life when everything was new and exciting. Think of all the pros who made these look sick!

“The éS 197 changed the game and raised the bar for all skate shoes that followed,” éS mentions on their site.

“It was the first to feature premium quality nubuck leather overlapping durable suede and breathable mesh, as well as a pioneering double cup sole with a Polyurethane mid sole that was a stroke of genius during a period of industry product stagnation. By embracing the DNA of the past, the éS 197 allows you to to step confidently into the future and achieve unprecedented levels of success. Amen.”

5. Two Nine 8

The iconic (and recently updated) ‘Two Nine 8’ has been back for a minute, but only in select colorways. The black and yellow colorway rounded out the series, and it just screams late ’90s/early ’00s! But honestly, this silhouette—just in general—gives off the same vibe. At any rate, they’re officially back, and these unearthed gems are here to stay.

“One of the most iconic skate shoes of all time has made it’s triumphant return: Introducing the newly retooled Two Nine 8,” éS proudly states on their website. “This groundbreaking design, which was a top seller in the late 90s and early 2000s is fréSh from the vaults, ready to become a favorite of the new generation.”

6. Quattro

Our friends at éS are continuing to dig through their archives this year and recently brought back another blast of nostalgia—the return of the iconic 1998 ‘QUATTRO’. This classic banger is back in four colorways, blending its original style with plenty of modern updates. Who remembers these?

“The éS QUATTRO debuted in 1998, the same year as Google was founded. Both were revolutionary in the their respective worlds,” éS mentions.

“The QUATTRO sold out so fast, we believe if it wasn’t for this shoe, the search engine Google, wouldn’t be as popular as it is today. Ronnie Creager & Rick McCrank were both fans of the éS QUATTRO thanks to its supreme comfort, boardfeel, and its stunning appearance—the best option before Tinder! Want to get laid, paid and get an upgrade… the NEW updated éS QUATTRO is for you!”

7. Accel OG

The Accel is unarguably one of éS’ most iconic shoes and certainly one of the most demanded reissues. Honestly, these days, I almost forget they ever even left. I skated them, you skated them, we all skated them. And they continue to thrive to this day. The shoe is basically synonymous with the brand and I love to see this new generation enjoying them as much as we all did in the ’90s/early ’00s.

“éS was created in 1995 to advance skate comfort, style and function to new levels,” éS mentions. “The ACCEL OG has been worn by the worlds greatest skateboarders, been a major reason for the progression of modern day skateboarding, and has been voted #1 skate shoe numerous times in media around the globe.”
